Just a brief note about my visit to Lahti to see my old professor Leonid Korchmar. I invited him to Finland three times last year to teach conducting on a masterclass - as I have written on this blog before. Now the inviting party was the Finnish military who wanted to give their band conductors a boost. I am happy to see that my work is bearing some fruit and that others also start to see the good qualities of Russian teaching methods in conducting! I am also hoping that I can invite professor Korchmar to Finland myself next year.
